7-year-old boy got stuck in an escalator

It’s in the news everywhere about the accident happened two days ago to a 7-year-old boy Felix Aparejado. His arm got stuck in an escalator in a mall in Caloocan City. According to the news, the accident happened after Felix was briefly left unaccompanied by an aunt when she went to the toilet. It’s been reported that the boy slipped just before reaching the bottom of the escalator. The skin on his left elbow got caught between the railing and an escalator step. It took 4 hours before an emergency response team removed Felix Aparejado’s arm from the escalator. He brought in the hospital after and underwent surgery.

Ways on how to avoid accident in an escalator”

I am a parent too and I have 4-year-old daughter. It is always important to look at them all the time. Especially on their age, Felix is 7-year-old only and just like my daughter they are in the stage of curiosity and playful. I’ve seen other children who make escalators as their playground. This is not proper and very insubstantial because we never know accidents may occur anytime. So we should be responsible parents. Always guide and teach kids about the proper doings when riding in an escalator. Tell them about negative effects when playing in an escalator. Aside from that make sure your kid’s shoestring is secured because this can be resulted to an accident.
